Torey Riso is a real estate veteran with 30 years’ experience, including over 14 years in the seniors housing industry. He served as President and CEO of Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors, a real estate advisory and brokerage firm, between 2018 and 2020, and Care Investment Trust (Care), a real estate investment company investing in the senior housing sector, between 2009 and 2018. Care was a publicly traded (NYSE and OTCQX) real estate investment trust (REIT) from 2007 to 2013, at which time it was taken private and no longer operated as a REIT.
From 2005 to 2010, Riso was employed by CIT Group Inc. (NYSE), a finance company serving the middle market. He served in a number of capacities at CIT, including senior vice president and chief counsel of CIT Corporate Finance and chief counsel of CIT Healthcare and CIT Commercial Real Estate. Between 1997 and 2005, Riso was in private legal practice in New York with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he worked in Orrick’s global finance group. Prior to 1997, Riso worked in Spain with a local real estate development company.
Riso served as Co-Chair of the Spring Investment Forum Planning Committee for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) in 2018 and 2019 and has served on the NIC Fall Conference Planning Committee since 2018. He was also a member of the ASHA Executive Board from 2010 to 2020.
Riso received a B.A. in economics and history cum laude from UCLA and a J.D. with honors from the Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice law in New York and California.
