Lambert van der Walde leads the UHG Center for Health Care Research and its talented and diverse team of health care researchers who perform rigorous policy, clinical, data, and financial analysis in order to develop strategic insight into health care innovation, payment, and delivery. The Center also partners with top academics to utilize UHG data, expertise, and capabilities to power their research. These combined efforts contribute to the global body of knowledge and understanding of health care systems and focus on topline market and policy challenges and proven, scalable opportunities to improve the performance of the health care system by expanding access, improving quality, reducing costs, and improving the experience of patients and clinicians.

Prior to joining UHG in 2015, Lambert operated VAN DER WALDE & CO., a health care finance and policy firm that advised health care industry leaders and entrepreneurs and public and private investors and lenders as they designed strategies to deploy capital across many health care sectors.

In the Bush and Obama Administrations, Lambert served as the Capital Markets Advisor to the CMS Administrator, advising on market consequences of new and proposed regulations and legislation and serving as the CMS liaison to the investor community.

Previously, Lambert was an investment banker with Salomon Brothers, focused on equity, debt, and M&A transactions for the telecommunications industry.
