David Francis, MHA is Managing Director overseeing healthcare management consulting services for BDO USA Management Advisory Services (MAS). David brings more than 25 years of Healthcare Leadership and C-Suite experience spanning clinical operations, practice management strategy, accountable care and value based medicine delivery, and revenue cycle operations. In his role, he is responsible for the growth and delivery of BDO MAS’ management consulting suite of services that include patient access transformation, clinical operations strategy, revenue cycle advisory, and interim leadership and management delivery.
Before joining BDO, David most recently served as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Management Consulting Services at Culbert Healthcare Solutions in a role comparable to his new BDO role that included oversight of projects touching on care expansion, volume recovery and new market growth strategies, workflow and care access technology strategies and optimization, client relations, and business development. Prior to joining Culbert, he served as National Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Steward Medical Group (SMG) at Steward Health Systems, the nation’s largest privately held integrated health system. In this role, David oversaw more than 400 physician practices with over 2,000 employed providers and 4,300 employees across 12 states that generated more than $740M in net patient revenue. His responsibilities included, care continuity, clinical quality performance, and patient experience that landed Steward as the #2 ranked Accountable Care Organization in the country.
Prior to SMG, David held positions at Steward as Vice President of Practice Management, SVP of Physicians Organization at Care New England in Providence, RI, Executive Director of Revenue at Northwestern Medicine’s Faculty Foundation, Director of Billing Operations, Compliance, Desktop Support, and Administrator of Cardiac Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Physician Organization.
David completed his master’s in healthcare administration at Simmons University in Boston. Prior to his experience in the civilian health care sector, David spent eleven years in the United States Coast Guard in health care services treating and supporting active-duty military and their dependents.
